THE Federal Government has declared that the Assumpta Science Centre, Owerri, Imo State, will be ready for use in four months.
The project is a product of a 2015 Federal Government’s memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Pontifical Council for Culture of the Vatican City meant to harnessing the ICT talents of many youths even in religious circles.
The Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu made the disclosure at Ofekata, Owerri, in Imo State, recently.
He explained that the project is in line with the Federal Government’s commitment to the initiative of International Universities and Youth Cooperation with Africa in informal science learning activities for sustainable development.
He lamented that the nation is presently suffering due to the age long neglect of science and technology by previous administrations even as he called for a purposeful embrace of the sector to revive the ailing economy.
