In one interview which dwelt on the subject of the 1985 overthrow of the military government he led, orchestrated by members of the inner circle of that government, Muhamadu Buhari claimed that some of the actions undertaken in his name, like the invasion of the home of the politician Mr. Obafemi Awolowo in Apapa in 1984, were carried out without his knowledge or authorization.
