President Muhammadu Buhari has lauded the people and government of Republic of Cameroon for hosting over 56,000 Internally Displaced Persons from Nigeria since July 2014. The president made the commendation at dinner and cultural night organised in honour of the visiting President of Cameroon, Mr Paul Biya and his wife, Chantal Biya, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday night.

Three Kenyan suspected members of an Islamic State affiliate have been arrested for allegedly planning an anthrax attack, Kenyan police said on Tuesday.

An Ikeja Magistrates’ Court in Lagos on Wednesday reserved May 18 for judgment in a case involving a drunk, Sunday Micheal, who confessed to stabbing nine customers with a broken bottle in an hotel. The magistrate, Mr A.A Adesanya, remanded Micheal, 24, in Kirikiri Prison after he had pleaded guilty to the allegation. Micheal, a vulcaniser of No. 53, Oshodi Road, Mafoluku in Oshodi, Lagos State , was arraigned on a two-count charge of a breach of peace and assault.

Recently, the National Agency for Food and drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, warned that consumption of imported frozen poultry products may lead to cancer, kidney diseases and hypertension. Unfortunately, the warning has not deterred many Nigerians from consuming them.

Abductors of wife and four children of the paramount ruler of Esit Eket, Edidem Ubong Assam, on Wednesday asked for a ransom of N100 million. The victims were abducted on Friday in the palace in Akpautong, Esit Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom. The abductors had contacted the family and demanded for the ransom to release the captives. A source close to the family who pleaded anonymity, said “the kidnappers have opened up for negotiations for the release of the monarch’s wife and children.
