Soldiers kill 2 gunmen, rescue 3 from kidnappers in Rivers

The Nigerian Army, yesterday, disclosed that two gunmen were shot dead in an exchange of gunfire with soldiers at Afam Community in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers. Capt. Eli Lazarus, spokesman for the 2 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, told newsmen in Port Harcourt that four other suspects escaped with gunshot wounds.

Police parade 40 robbery, kidnapping suspects in Kaduna

The Police Command in Kaduna State , yesterday, paraded 40 suspects for alleged robbery, kidnapping, cattle rustling and car snatching. The Commissioner of Police in the state, Adamu Ibrahim said 20 of the suspects including two Nigeriens and two women, belonged to gangs that specialized in robbery and car snatching.

One dead, 27 rescued in Lagos boat mishap

One person was, yesterday, confirmed dead and 27 others injured when a 30-seater commercial boat identified as HMS 1, capsized on Ikorodu waterways. The boat capsized about 400 meters away from its take-off point, Origin Jetty, at Ikorodu, when it reportedly collided with a log abandoned on the waterways by sawmill operators, at about 9.55 a.m.

Employee sues communication firm for N350 million

A N350 million suit has been instituted against Tecno Telecoms Limited and three others over alleged wrongful inducement and misrepresentation of facts, that led the claimant accepting a job from defendant’s company. Respondents in the suit by Mr Festus Irenonse before the Lagos division of the National Industrial Court, NIC, are Mr Rat Fang, Mr. Adebayo Adegboye and Total Data Limited.
