Speaking to Vanguard in Owerri, he expressed total disappointment on the state of governance in Imo.

The chairman said the citizens have the last say over how and when they want to make the state better by effectively using their votes, adding that as a caretaker committee chair, 90 days would be enough for them to position the party for victory in 2019.

“At the level governance has reached in Imo, we expect that the time has come for a genuine rescuer to come and save Imolites from retrogressive style of governance.

“We will provide a liberator that will be the governor of Imo state in 2019, a governor that will govern with human face and respect for people,” Akujiobi said.

He said: ”We have a responsibility, bestowed on us, that responsibility is to give Imo people a governor that will save them from hardship and hunger.”

It was the view of the chairman that Imo people were tired of enduring a government that has not put a smile on their faces.

“What is the essence of governance if not to make people happy by utilizing their resources in a way that will favour them,” he said.

“We are tired of what is happening in Imo state and Labour Party will give Imo people the deserved change and joy will return again”, he said.
