Founder of Resurrection Praise Ministries for Africa, Archbishop Samson Benjamin has called on the Federal Government to prioritise  short term measures in the search for solutions to  the current recession in Nigeria.

The cleric who spoke in Bida, Niger State when he paid a courtesy visit to the Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar recently, expressed hope that Nigeria will come out of the recession.

Archbishop Benjamin, who noted that “without pain, there can be no gain”, added, that whatever was being put in place by the government is for the future of Nigeria.

He also called on the federal government to adopt short term programmes that would ameliorate the pains on the citizens, while it seeks for long term projects.

Although he noted that Nigeria is a very large country, and the most populous black nation in the world, which should be an advantage, he lamented that the nation’s problem has always been systemic and institutional issues.
