Police arrest 4 kidnappers in Bauchi

Bauchi—Bauchi State Police have arrested four suspected kidnappers that had been terrorising Ganjuwa Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

A statement by the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Haruna Mohammed, said on November 17, at 5:30a.m., detectives attached to the Anti-kidnapping Unit of the Command arrested a  gang of kidnappers  terrorising Ganjuwa axis.

He gave the names of the four suspects to include Adamu Abubakar, 20; Yau Samaila, 18; Musa Sale, 25, and Ibrahim Haruna, 22, all of Burku village in Ganjuwa Local Government Area.

The threat

The PPRO said that the suspects threatened one Hussaini Samaila, 20, of Burku village on phone and demanded for N1,500,000 or they will kidnap and kill his entire family members.

The suspects, according to DSP Mohammed, voluntarily confessed to the crime and the exhibits recovered from them at the point of collecting ransom include one fabricated revolver pistol, three mobile phones used for negotiation of ransom, one vest of charms, two cutlasses and two sticks.

He said the suspects have been charged to court.
