A 29-year-old woman, Ogechi Irunwanu, was yesterday charged before a Surulere Chief Magistrate’s Court in Lagos for unlawfully inflicting wounds on her 12-year-old house help, Jennifer Okafor.

The accused was said to have inflicted wounds on Okafor and chased her out of the house at 8p.m.

It was gathered that the victim was picked up by a Good Samaritan and taken to a police station late in the night, when it became obvious that the accused would not allow the victim into the house, which led to her arrest.

Senior Chief Magis-trate Ipaye Nwachukwu, granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum and adjourned the matter to December 12 for mention.
