Following the spate of kidnap cases recorded, Lagos State Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Lagos Command, have deployed sizable number of officials as undercover agents to further secure Lagos creeks, while others are currently undergoing capacity training.

Ambode at the grand finale of the 2016 Community Day celebration, organized by the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs at the Police College, Ikeja, Lagos, restated his administration determination to stamp out kidnapping and violent crime from the state and urged residents to be law abiding and vigilant in their communities in order to prevent any act of criminality, especially, as the yuletide period approaches.

Ambode, who was represented by the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Abdullateef Abdulhakeem, said all hands must be on deck to nip in the bud all forms of criminality particularly the spate of kidnapping, sexual harassment and other debilitating vices from the state.

He said “I urge you all to be law abiding and vigilant in all our communities so as not to allow any form of criminality such as kidnapping, sexual harassment and robbery in our state. Today, our security slogan, ‘see something, say something’ has become the password for 24-hour vigilance.”
