LIKE many beauty queens, the pretty Face of CandyCity Nigeria 2016, Nneke Somto has already set plans in motion to flag off her pet project. This is as a result of her conviction that being a beauty queen is not about wearing a crown.

The fair-complexioned beauty, is stopping at nothing to join forces with the social crusaders to fight against domestic violence which has become a recurring decimal in the society.

Through her pet project tagged, “Purple Bande Signifie “ Somto has added her voice to the campaign. For the Port-Harcourt-based beauty queen, domestic violence is an evil act and a major concern in the society.

While her reign lasts, Somto wants to be a very vocal advocate against rape and sexual violence in the society.

She believes that domestic violence goes beyond physical abuse to sexual exploitation, rape and incest. According to her, the consequences of this unjust act tend to have a long time negative effects on the victim. The elegant beauty who has great sense of style believes that speaking up is one of the greatest weapons to win the fight against sexual violence.
