Alaba International market traders, on the platform of Electrical Dealers Association of Nigeria, EDAN, have pledged to work in conjunction with the Federal Government and other regulatory agencies to ensure they upheld highest standard in their business.

The incoming Chairman of the association, Chief Fabian Ezeorjika, gave the commitment yesterday at the inauguration of the newly-elected executive officers after eight months of leadership tussle that threatened to tear the association apart.

In his acceptance speech, Ezeorjika said the market was known with its conformity to quality standards and compliance to government policies, adding that the association under him would work hard to defend the ethos for which it was known.

Also speaking at the event, the outgoing Chairman, Chief Martin Egbeyiugo, appealed to the government to find ways of improving infrastructures, especially electricity supply, to propel its members to veer into manufacturing.

He also appealed to the government to make it easy for them to access foreign exchange for their businesses.

He said: “We are interested in making our own products here in Nigeria, but the problem is that government does not provide the necessary tools to make our aspirations come to pass.”
