Three Nigerians win CNN/Multichoice African Journalist Awards

Three Nigerians shone brightly in Johannesburg, South Africa, last night, after they won CNN/Multichoice African Journalist Awards.
Yemisi Akinbobola and Ogechi Ekeanyanwu won in the sport award category. They won the award with Paul Bradshew with their story: ‘Follow the Money’.

The other  Nigerian  who won is Chika Oduah. She practices journalism  in Kenya and won the technology and innovation award for her story,

‘The app that saved 1, 000  children’, which centred  on lead poisoning in northern Nigeria.  Two Kenyans, Asha Ahmed and Rashid Idi, won the top prize: CNN Multichoice African Journalist Award. Other winners include Jay Caboz from  Mozambique (Energy & Infrastructure); Faten Hayed of Algeria (Francophone  General  News, Print); Richard Poplak, Shaun Swingler, Diana  Neille and Sumeya Gasa of South Africa (Economic &  Business); IMia Malan of South Africa (Features);

Veronica  Naskwor Kwabla of Ghana  (Health & Medical);  James  Oatway of South Africa (Mohammed Amin Photographic);  Bob  Ruguriika of Burundi (Press Freedom); John Grobler,  Namibia and Fiona Macleod of South Africa  (Environment).
