Behold the new Benin monarch!
Prince of Benin Kingdom and Edaiken N’ Uselu, Prince Eheneden Erediauwa last Sunday, commenced the performance of the 14-day Iyan-Ehien chieftaincy rites ahead of his coronation on Thursday, October 20. Indeed, while the coronation is gathering momentum, it’s been a homecoming affair for all sons and daughters of the soil who want to be part of history.
Already, those in the know confirmed that, the ancient city of Benin is now wearing a festive outlook, with the Edo State government working round the clock not only to beef up security across the state but also, to give the ancient city a facelift.
It’s expected that the coronation will be attended by eminent Nigerians, diplomats, politicians, business moguls among others. But beyond the glamour and razzmatazz that will greet the historic event, which will climax on Sunday, with a thanksgiving service, one thing everyone must know about the new Benin monarch is that he’s a lover of the rich culture of the people. Recall that last year, the new Benin monarch led the palace chiefs to Calabar where they paid a royal visit to the Obong of Calabar, Edidem Ekpo Okon Abasi. Among other things, the essence of the visit was to strengthen the aged-long ties between the Efik Kingdom and Benin, in addition to promoting the culture of people as chronicled in the much talked about Lancelot Imasuen’s epic film, “Invasion 1897.” The visit was facilitated by his pet project, the Benin Royal Dynasty Trust. May your reign be filled as you ascend the throne of his forefathers!
Alhaja Sinatu Ojikutu goes spiritual!
FORMER deputy governor of Lagos State, Alhaja, Sinatu Ojikutu is a spiritual woman despite her romance with politics.
The first female deputy governor in Nigeria is almost shouting herself hoax telling Nigerians to intensify their prayer lives and do well to match the same with action without which, the country might suddenly collapse. She echoed this warning weekend, while speaking on a television programme.
Alhaja Ojikutu revealed that God instructed her in the course of her prayers to tell Nigerians to pray for Mr. President as his enemies are seriously at work and will succeed except Nigerians pray for him. We hope Nigerians will heed her plea!
Kano set to reverberate as Sanusi’s daughter weds!
THE ancient city of Kano is bound to reverberate this December, as the second daughter of His Royal Highness, Sanusi Lamido, Shadida will be saying ‘I do’ to her heartthrob, Prince Abubakar Baba Ahmed. The wedding, which is expected to be the talk of the town, was announced yesterday by Shadida’s sister, Yusra Khadija Sanusi who shared photo of the University of Brighton Law graduate on her Instagram account. “Can’t believe in about two months, you’d be someone ‘s wife and have new siblings .
And I have to share you with more than 10 other siblings. And you ‘ll start lying to each of your 20 (or more) siblings that they are your “best”. (BTW I know it’s either me, Ashraf, Imamu, Halifa or Muhammad; the rest don’t even stand a chance!) It’s scary knowing I won’t see you before December…,”she wrote.
Expectedly, the event will be a gathering of who is who in the northern political circle, governors, captains of industry, bank executives, friends and well wishers of the royal family.
Mrs. Obiano and office of First Lady
WIFE of governor of Anambra State, Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano is deeply troubled. The beautiful First Lady of Anambra State is doing everything possible to refute the rumour making the rounds that her husband, Willie Obiano created office of the First Lady which he’s currently running with the state funds.
The troubled woman, however, has cried out, insisting that there is no office of the First Lady in Anambra State and that her pet project, Caring Family Enhancement Initiative,CAFÉ,is being sustained by her husband’s salary, her personal earnings and donors.’
So, whenever you see the fair-complexioned wife of the number one citizen of Anambra State spraying money at random or undertake any laudable project, do know that she’s funding it from her pocket!
Between President Buhari and Rangers FC
ON a lighter note, as patriotic Nigerians are basking in the euphoria of the victory of Rangers International football club of Enugu for winning the Nigeria professional football league 32 years after, not many would remember that the last time they won the league was during the first incarnation of President Muhammadu Buhari as a military Head of State. Fast forward to the present, Rangers International has won the second time.
President Muhammadu Buhari
Interestingly again during the second coming of PMB as a civilian president, What a coincidence!
