In a bid to improve employability of Nigerian youths, increase skills acquisition for future advancement and to meet employers’ satisfaction at the work place, HR firm, Employme.ng Nigeria is setting up seven e-learning hubs across Nigeria before the end of 2017. This e-learning technologies will enable job seeking graduates, undergraduates to improve on their career and be compliance with modern day e-learning technology driven.
Opening one of the e-learning centres at Amuwo-Odofin Industrial Area, Festac town recently, Head of centre, Christian Anozie, said, “the target is to equip over two million unemployed graduates within Amuwo-Odofin, Ojo and Badagry Local Government Areas of Lagos state with technology based knowledge. Aside equipping youths with these skills, the centre in partnership with some companies will provide internship of a minimum of 60 days for graduates of the centre to practice and have exposure in a working environment to test their skills acquired”.
According to Anozie, the e-learning centre is offering tech-based skills in web design, software/app development, data analysis and management, graphics and 3D animation, digital marketing and many more to better prepare for employment and self-reliant”.
He said, “these skills will increase a pool of tech-based employable Nigerians and a shift from book learning to technology based education, saying further that the centre will impact positively on our teeming unemployed youths.
“Tech-based learning is economy driven and would increase the country’s taxable population”.
Anozie stressed that the choice of Festac for the e-learning is to bring technology education to the grassroots and about 2 million unemployed graduates in Lagos.
“One unique thing about the e-learning centre is the course duration, structure and fees. 80% of course work is dedicated to practical sessions using video and projectile based tutorials of essence. Our course duration is a minimum of 30 days with post course support services unlike others.
We have provided modern facilities including conducive atmosphere that promotes e-learning technology transfer. Also because of the economic recession, there are fee variations for the unemployed and people with disability since Tech education and skills don’t discriminate.
