WARRI—OIL and gas producing communities in Delta State have warned the state House of Assembly against the dissolution of the board of Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, following the controversy surrounding the N28 billion budget of the commission.

The warning by Delta Oil and Gas Stakeholders’ Group, followed rumours that some aggrieved members of the state Assembly were working frantically to dissolve the board, following opposition to the alleged padding of the 2016 DESOPADEC budget.

DOGSG, in a statement by Dr Tagbiretse John, Mr Obakpo Goodluck, Ebideinwei John and Gregory Eze, President, External Affairs Officer and Organising Secretary, respectively warned that such action could set the state on fire.
