ABUJA—Apparently irked by his persistent diatribe against the national chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, the All Progressives Congress, APC, has constituted a five-member disciplinary committee to investigate its Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Timi Frank.

Frank had persistently insisted that Chief Odigie-Oyegun resigned in order to restore peace to the highly-fragmented party.

Although the committee was inaugurated behind closed doors late yesterday in Abuja, it later told journalists that the party received a petition against Frank from a member in Akwa-Ibom State, Mr Aniekan Akpabio.

The committee, which was set up by the national vice chairman, South-South, Utufam Etah Hilliard,   had Solomon Edoja as Chairman.

Others are Ben Davidson Opute (Secretary) Dr Wilson Samuel, Rt. Hon. Dan Akpan and  Tony Odey.

Edoja said the committee’s sitting would be in public. “We are going to sit in public. People will be allowed to come and watch our proceedings.

“It is a disciplinary committee because there is a petition lying in front of us in respect of the activities of Mr. Timi Frank who is the Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the party. We have just been inaugurated. We will soon invite him to state his own side of the story.

”We are also going to invite the petitioner because the legal procedure is that you have to hear from both sides before you take a decision. We are going to subject our recommendations to the zonal executive committee for ratification,” he said.
