MAIDUGURI—Troops of the Operation Lafiya Dole has clashed with some remnants of Boko Haram terrorists in their hideouts, leaving four of the insurgents dead and one captured alive after 15 minutes gun battle around Jororo and Tombaeji villages in Geidam Local Government Area of Yobe State.

Acting Director of Army Public Relations, Colonel Sani Usman, said in a statement, yesterday, that the incident took place in the early hours of Wednesday, September 14.

He said: “The fighting patrol team came into contact with Boko Haram terrorists elements around Gajire village during which there was a firefight that lasted for about 15 minutes. Four of them were killed and one captured.

“The troops also recovered two General Purpose Machine Guns, two AK-47 rifles, 144 rounds of 7.62mm (Special) ammunition and two KASEA branded motorcycles.”
