LOKOJA – Men of the Nigeria Police today stopped people who have come to show support for late Abubakar Audu’s son, Muhammed Audu from observe his (Muhammed) arraignment at the magistrate court.
The police also disallowed journalists from gaining entrance to the court premises, saying they are acting on ‘order from above’
One of the police officers stationed few meters from the court gate said “I have intolerance to anybody; journalist inclusive. Our order is straight, and that is to disallow ANYONE from entering here”; with that he turned the journalists (mostly of print media) back.
While it was not sure what ground Muhamed Audu was arraigned on, but political pundits have been reading political undertone to his case alluding to the quick manner he was arrested and arraigned today.
Muhamed Audu who is the first born of the late APC governorship candidate in last year guber election has been critical about the state governor, Yahaya Bello his government.
But government yesterday denied having hands in Muhammed’s police predicament.
