WARRI—EXPERTS in the engineering profession have tasked their colleagues, particularly those occupying prominent elective government positions to initiate legislations that will enhance efficient service delivery and promote professionalism so as to tackle factories as well as infrastructural failures in Nigeria.

President/Chairman-In-Council, Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE, Engr. Otis Anyaeji, former President of the Society, Engr. Joseph Uujamhan and a seasoned civil engineer, who popularised the use of pre-cast concrete sheet piles in Nigeria in place of steel sheet piles, Engr. Chris Ekpekurede, made the call during the annual dinner and induction/inauguration of 2016/2017 executive committee of Warri branch, Delta State of NSE.

Noting that engineers in prominent political positions have not taken advantage of the situation, the NSE President enjoined the 114 inductees of the Warri branch of the society as well as their senior colleagues to take advantage of “this season of diversification of the economy, because Warri is endowed with industrial facilities.”

Ekpekurede in his presentation, blamed the abandonment of many projects in the country today on corruption and greed.
