ASABA — Deputy Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Mr. Friday Osanebi, has enjoined Nigerians to commence the ‘real change’ by taking actions that would bring peace to the nation.

Osanebi, who made the call in his Sallah message, said peace and love were essential while hunger and disease, were not partisan.

He gave the charge against the background of alleged call by the opposition party’s call for militancy in Ndokwa nation. He urged Ndokwa youths to remain calm, peaceful and supportive of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa’s administration, which he said was already delivering on his campaign promises.

Osanebi, through his spokesman, Oyibosochukwu Nwabueze, wondered why anyone would advocate violence in any part of the country.

Also speaking, Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Commissioner representing Ndokwa ethnic nationality, Mr. Nnamdi Ezechi, condemned the call for militancy in Ukwuani Local Government Area as reactionary and unpatriotic.

According to him, activities of militants in the Niger Delta had contributed to the dwindling receipts of DESOPADEC as an interventionist agency and the nation’s economy at large.
