PORT HARCOURT—No fewer than six persons have been killed in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State, following renewed cult clash in the area.

It was gathered that cultists, suspected to be members of Greenlanders, invaded two communities in the area, Okposi community in Iburu clan and Obagi in Egi clan.

A community source, Mr. Chinedu Amadi, noted that the cultists killed four people in Okposi community and two in Obagi.

The fresh killings are coming few days after some repentant cultists in the area allegedly denounced their membership and submitted their arms to the state government.

Amadi said that the suspected members of Greenlander stormed the community, shooting sporadically after killing four suspected members of their rival, Iceland cult.

He noted that the cultists first invaded Okposi around 8a.m., before moving to Obagi community.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer of Rivers State Command, Nnamdi Omoni, said that the police were not aware of the killings.
