PORT HARCOURT— FORMER Chairman  of Peoples Democratic Party,  PDP, in Rivers State, Chief Godspower Ake, is dead. Chief Ake was among chieftains of the PDP who decamped with the Minister of Transportation,  Mr Chibuike Amaechi, to All Progressives Congress, APC, in Rivers State when he was governor of the state.

Media aide to the state Chairman of APC, Chief Chukwuemeka Eze, confirmed the death, saying that Ake passed on at a hospital in Lagos on Monday.

The late Chief Ake, at a time, was the South-South Vice Chairman of the PDP.

He was also a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

He died at the age of 76.
