Senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District, Senator Buruji Kashamu, has denied leading some thugs to attack a member of the House of Representatives,  Oladipupo Adebutu, in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, last Tuesday.

A statement by Mr Austin Oniyokor, Media Adviser to Senator Kashamu said there was no contact whatsoever between Senator Kashamu and Adebutu, adding: “The senator does not move with thugs and could not have done so in the company of respectable BoT members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, whom he rode with to the Presidential Hotel in Port Harcourt where he saw Adebutu.

“Senator Kashamu had gone to the Presidential Hotel in Port Harcourt in company of members of the BoT of the party after a meeting at another part of the town.

“As he made to leave and walked towards the car park, he saw Hon. Adebutu and instead of him to extend the usual courtesy expected from a younger one to the elderly, he (Hon. Adebutu) began to shout in Yoruba, saying, “What are you doing here? Go to Sheriff’s convention.”
