A CHIEFTAIN of the PDP, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau, has described the party’s candidate, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, as a man of integrity, determination, vision and commitment to excellence.

The former Minister of Education and governor of Kano state said this while addressing supporters of the party at a Campaign Fund-raising dinner for Ize-Iyamu in Benin City, yesterday.

Shekarau flanked by former Minister for Works, Mr. Mike Omolememhen said that he has no doubt that Edo as a state and a people were in for better days, if on September 10, 2016, they elect Ize-Iyamu as their governor.

Cautioning that elections in Nigeria has moved beyond sharing money to buy peoples’ conscience he said: “I want to assure the people of Edo state that they have a man of dedication, a man of commitment, a man of business, a man of determination and a man of vision in Pastor Ize-Iyamu”.

Noting that he and Ikimi, who played critical roles in the formation of the APC were no longer in the party, he said that today the APC had become a mess.

Shekarau recalled how he led a 21-member team of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party, ANPP to meet with a 21-member team of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN led by Chief Tom Ikimi with Ize-Iyamu on board  as well as the 21-man team of the CPC led by Garba Dadi to form the APC.
