Akure—THE Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the South West  has called for measures that will ameliorate the sufferings of the masses in the country.

It wondered why the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, administration was dissipating most of its energy on anti-corruption crusade at the detriment of Nigerians who are hungry.

This was contained in a. Communique issued at the end of the inaugural meeting of the party. Zonal executive committee held in Akure.

Reading the communique, the Chairman of the party in the zone, Dr Eddy Olafeso  asked the federal government to tackle the issue of unemployment in the country, Insurgency in the North East, Avengers and Fulani herdsmen.

According to the communique; ‘’Also of importance are economic crises, inflation, infrastructural decadence and suffering that have permeated every part of this country without prompt actions to forestall continued lack and anxiety of the masses of this country.’’

It also advised the President Buhari administration on the need for observance of the rule of law in the country.

“The zonal chapter of PDP reiterates the call for the restructuring of the country without further delay as a panacea for the continued peace, stability and progress of the country.

“And we are also calling for the immediate release of all our political leaders held in illegal detention by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC),” the position document said.
