Nigeria can be restructured without war- Onuesoke

Contrary to the insinuation by some Nigerians, a former Delta State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial aspirant, Chief Sunny Onuesoke, says Nigeria can be restructured without going to war. Speaking to journalists in Kano, Onuesoke pointed out that Nigeria has developed to a state where it could be restructured without shedding a drop of blood, adding that Nigeria got independence from the British government without fighting despite that those from some part of the country were opposed to independence then.

Wole Soyinka, at 82, uncovered!

The 82nd birthday of the Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, was unique as scores of people converged on his Ijegba forest abode for the celebration. Soyinka was born on July 13,1934. The low key celebration was organised by Zmirage and featured lectures to highlight some of the vices plaguing the country while proffering solution. The annual Wole Soyinka International Cultural Exchange (WSCIE) was the seventh edition which had as its overall theme: ‘Corruption: a Battle for the Arts’.

Divine fruitfulness is God’s desire for mankind- Adeboye

GENERAL Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has described divine fruitfulness as God’s mandate and desire for mankind, especially for those who are His true children of God, submissive and willing to do His will. Pastor Adeboye made this known while delivering a sermon at a monthly special prayer meeting organised for pregnant women, youths, singles and their families at the National Headquarters of RCCG, Throne of Grace Parish, Ebute-Metta, Lagos.

Charity as a way of life

Love is a strong bond that binds. It is a unifying factor; the true essence that brings people together and enable them live in harmony, devoid of all forms of rancour. We need love in all aspects of our lives, from the homefront to the larger society. But for love to be truly effective, it must be embedded in charity, which is the theolo-gical virtue by which we love God above all things for his own sake, and our neighbor as ourselves for the love of God.

ABUJA – THE newly-inaugurated president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Dr. Samson Ayokunle, has declared that the association under his watch would not be anti-government, but will not patronize government. He said though CAN would be a partner in progress, they would not fail to speak against the excesses of politi-cal leadership, even when the situation is not favourable for the truth.
