WARRI—CHIEF Press Secretary to Delta State governor, Charles Aniagwu, has said that to deal with the falling monthly allocation to the state from the Federation Account, the state government has been cutting down on its expenditure.

Aniagwu spoke, yesterday, during a media parley with journalists from the Ughelli, Sapele and Warri correspondent chapels of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, at the Press Centre, Warri.

On the governor’s commitment to prudence in governance, Aniagwu said: “Okowa will not have appointed 25 commissioners as 12 would have been enough but some local government areas would have felt marginalised as a result.

“As I speak with you, no single special assistant to the governor has an official car. They are made to rely on personal cars. It is very difficult funding our activities hence the governor had to cut down on expenditures.”
