Minutes after I concluded this column last week, I turned to my daily devotional manual, Open Heavens, authored    by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, and the topic for the day was “    Dancing unto the Lord”. I said to myself, definitely, the Holy Spirit is in charge.    I had just written about prayer to praise and, now, a    respected man of God    has ‘ Dancing unto the Lord’  as    his topic for us.      This gave me the confidence that some people will soon dance as their sorrows are about to be turned to unspeakable joy.

Praise and dancing are related, aren’t day?      When you praise God with your whole heart, you dance even when no one is      beating musical instrument.      When this happens, you are already      preparing for your celebration, physically and spiritually though you may not know it.

By the grace of God, the one with whom nothing is impossible, in this second half of this year, you will dance in the mighty name of Jesus.

Dancing as a spiritual    step –      Psalm 126      vs. 1 and 2 states: “ When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion , we were like them that dream.    Then was our mouth filled with laughter,    and our tongue with singing;    then said they among the    heathen,    the LORD hath done great things for them”.

In this season, the Lord will put laughter in your mouth    in Jesus name.

While praying, praising and dancing, we must be hopeful.    Indeed, dancing is an exercise of faith.

Adeboye wrote: “ The moment you begin to dance in the midst of your situation and circumstances , you are simply telling    the whole world    that you are not a victim.    You are provoking God to action and, when he rises on your behalf, you will become the talk of the town”.

Is someone sitting on your promotion?    Has he or she vowed that as long as he/she occupies an office, you will not be promoted?    If this is your situation, the solution is simple,    strive to live holy, be prayerful, praise and dance to the Lord even in the presence of that person and the Lord will move in a way that will astound you.

Throwing more light on dancing in the presence of God,  Adeboye wrote, “ Dancing is loaded with blessings. When      we dance unto the Lord, He turns    our mourning into joy.  There are people      who only dance    when the Lord has given them a testimony to share, but those who understand better will continue to dance even before the arrival of their miracles”.

In 2010, when I had Samuel after 22 years of waiting, a friend, whom I will simply call Mummy T , attended the naming ceremony. She danced so well    to the songs played at the party that she began to tell people that the next dancing will be in her house.

At that time,    she had a son who was about 17 years old and had been trusting    God for another child.      To the glory of God, barely nine months after the naming of Samuel, she had a baby girl and, just as she said, the next dancing was in her home.    Barely a year    after that, she had another baby girl.   Within  two years, she had two babies.

Brethren, what are you saying to yourself? Apart from prayers, what other steps are you taking?

Impatience-   A trend is developing in churches these days, which is absolutely not in line with the word of God. I’ll relate the story of a sister in a Pentecostal church.    This lady and her husband had been believing God    for children. They were regular in church and    always seated close to them on the same row was a single lady.    The couple became nice enough to give this single lady a ride home.    Before madam could say Jack Robinson, the lady had    started dating her husband.    It got so bad that on a particular day, the man left his wife      behind and rode to the church with this lady.        No one needed to tell madam that her marriage had become endangered.    She didn’t fight the other lady,    she only got more determined to see the end of her challenge.

To the glory of God,    about two weeks ago, I heard that she had given birth to a baby boy.

Now, there are lessons to be learnt here.

First  is that we should not assume that everyone we find in the church is a true Christian.  So, we need to be careful who we associate with.    Of course, there are some single ladies who are decent.

The unholy attitude of this single lady who wanted to break the home of a fellow sister    shows that she no longer had confidence in God.

Apart from this, she had  simply delayed her miracle.

I recall that Pastor Adeboye, in one of    his sermons    at the Holy Ghost Night, said  when a married woman, who is believing God for a child, goes about dating other men out of desperation, she is simply delaying her miracle.      The case of this single    lady is no different.

Worse still for her is that, with the birth  of  madam’s baby boy, she has been put to shame.  This season, the Lord will put all your enemies and unfriendly friends to shame in Jesus name.

As for the man, he too has    a blame.      For a person who claims to be serving God, why should he engage in an affair with a strange woman?    He also has demonstrated that he is impatient with God.

Let’s remember    that there is always a price to pay for our sins except of course we repent.

Babies at last

The word of the Lord in Deuteronomy 7 vs 14    states:” Thou shall be blessed above all people: there shall not be male or female barren among you , or among    your cattle”.

God honours his word but we must also  play our part.    A person living in sin should not expect God’s words to be fulfilled in his or her life.

We must give our lives to God for him to manifest his powers in our lives.

During the June Laugher Day at Laughter Foundation International Ministry, a couple, who had been married for 25 years, presented their set of twins, a boy and a girl, for dedication.  Shouts of halleluiah rented the air.

The couple told stories of what they had been through, especially from people related by blood who have vowed that they would not see them have children, but they remained firm with    God who gave them victory over their enemies.

Indeed,    according to them, by the time the babies came, God had silenced all stubborn  enemies. I mean they had all died.    Some of these people did not only attack spiritually, they attacked    physically. They openly boasted of their witchcraft power .    The battle was long and tough but God gave the couple  victory.

I was still      postponing this story when I saw God in a bigger dimension at the July    Holy Ghost Night of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. A woman, who had been married for 35 years, presented her first baby to the Lord for testimony.

How great is our God? Are you still in doubt that you will overcome      that challenge?    Don’t give up. God has not forgotten you.

What I found noteworthy in this woman’s testimony is the fact that she said she bought a number of Daddy G.O’s books ( Pastor Adeboye is called Daddy G.O.) and read them.  Unknown to her, she was taking in the word of God. This, unknown to many, is beyond  medication. It heals the spirit and flesh. How much time do you dedicate to reading the Holy Bible or reading books written by reputable men of God?

If you haven’t started  doing this, please begin now. Some are not so voluminous and can be read within a short time.  As you do this, the Lord will minister to your spirit and flesh and, very soon, you will dance to the glory of God.

Get ready for a new song. It is your turn to dance in Jesus name.
