InstinctWave, organizers of MarketingWorld awards have unveiled plans to honour Nigerian Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) in the private and public sectors for their contribution towards the financial growth of their organisations. The recognition is the second edition of the Nigeria CFO award and it is scheduled to hold on November 19, 2016 in Lagos and for the first time recognise and award financial experts in the public sector.
Speaking at a media briefing in Lagos, Chief Executive Officer, InstinctWave, Mr. Akin Naphtal said that the Nigeria CFO awards was designed to honour exceptional top financial executives in the country who have helped their companies to stabilise their finance flow, thereby affected the overall business operations to reach enviable heights.
He said that these executives have also contributed to the economic growth of the nation, stating, “ “Nigeria CFO Awards will honour exceptional top financial executives in our country who have helped their companies reach enviable heights. These executives have also in one way or the other contributed immensely to the total economic growth of the nation.
“These special people have built indomitable teams in several companies to stabilise financial flow and thereby affected the general business stance of these companies. We believe celebrating them’ will no doubt inspire them to achieve the more.”
Naphtal said that it is expanding to recognise financial experts that work within the public sectors, added that people who provide technology that aid financial reporting and forecasting would also be considered for recognition.
He said “The public sector is a key area you cannot ignore, even the private sector; most of the banks are struggling because of the TSA that the government have introduced. Government is pooling cash from the private sector that shows the significant weight that the public sector have on the private industry.
Government are still the biggest spender and the biggest buyer. you cannot do anything without taking into consideration those people that are playing in the public sector.”
