
Thirty players from the Nigeria league are expected to open a training camp soon, ahead of a series of friendlies against La Liga sides, Valencia and Malaga next month.
Officials informed that a final squad of 23 players will then fly out to Spain early next month for the friendlies.
The date and location of the training camp have not yet been decided.
Nigeria caretaker coach Salisu Yusuf was in Bauchi on Sunday to meet with the two coaches who will assist him handle the league All-Stars, Abdu Maikaba of Wikki and Imama Amapakabo from Enugu Rangers.
Joint leading scorer of the Nigeria league Godwin Obaje will lead 29 other players for the camp in Abuja. Obaje has scored 13 goals, same as Sunshine Stars striker Afolabi Okiki.
Other players penciled down for the training camp include goalkeeper Emeka Nwabulu, Charles Henlong, Alhassan Ibrahim (Wikki), Jamiu Alimi, Rabiu Ali, Ifeanyi Matthew (Pillars), Ifeanyi Ifeanyi, Sikiru Olatunbosun (MFM) and Gabriel Wassa (Niger Tornadoes).
The La Liga challenge matches are being staged under the auspices of a working pact between the League Management Company (LMC) and La Liga.
