As part of the mop-up operation in the North-East, troops of 81 Battalion and 251 Task Force Battalion, has intercepted escaping Boko Haram suspects at Liwanti village along Damboa-Bulabulin road, Borno State.
According to the Army, preliminary investigation, revealed that 69 of the people family members of Boko Haram terrorists escaping from Sambisa.
It said, out of that number, 7 are men, 18 women, 7 grown up boys and 37 children, adding that at the initial state of interrogation, the people claimed to have escaped from Boko Haram terrorists captivity at Ngwalimari village in Sambisa forest general area.
It however noted that further interrogation revealed otherwise, even as items recovered were 15 bicycles, 5 Dane Guns and other personal effects.
