THE Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, has petitioned the National Judicial Commission, NJC, over continued detention of 19 of its members, including a cripple, in prison custody since April, 2007.

The Government of Edo State under the leadership of Adams Oshiomhole has accused the Delta State Governor Senator Ifeanyi Okowa of recruiting thugs in order to destabilize the gubernatorial election coming up in September.

Suspected militants numbering about 30, on Wednesday, attacked a convoy of Macmahon staff at Idundun Bridge, in Cross River, at about 5:30 am, killing one driver and kidnapping five others.
