MAKURDI—The Benue State government has sacked the local government caretaker chairmen in the 23 local government areas of the state.

The decision to relieve the caretaker Chairmen of their appointmen was taken on Wednesday, at the end of the weekly State Executive Council, SEC, meeting presided over by Governor Sanule Ortom in Makurdi.
Addressing reporters, the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Odey Ageh, said the SEC also directed the outgoing chairmen to hand over to their respective Directors General Service and Administration, DGSA.
“They have also been directed to hand over all government property including their officials cars to their respective DGSAs who would run the councils until further notice,” Agey added.
