ABEOKUTA—Doctors under the aegis of the National Association of Government General Medical and Dental Practitioners, Ogun State chapter have threatened to embark on an indefinite strike from today.
Addressing newsmen at a press conference held at the secretariat of the state chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association, the Chairman of the association, Dr. Oladunni Adetola, said the doctors would be on strike every Monday and Tuesday of every week, and this would continue indefinitely unless the state government acceded to their demands.
Meantime, to improve the quality of healthcare services in the state, Ogun State government has adopted the PAF SafeCare Standards as its state quality improvement standards.
The initiative is aimed at monitoring progress in quality of healthcare services enjoyed by the people as well as help both private and public health facilities to improve their service delivery.
