Awka—THE Caring Family Enhancement Initiative, CAFÉ, a non –governmental organization formed by the wife of the Anambra State governor, Mrs. Ebelechukwu Obiano to assist the less privileged in the society received a boost weekend with the formation of CAFÉ Ambassadors in all the 21 local government areas of the state to support the programme.

At the launch of the support group in Awka, its coordinator, Mr. Tony Ezekwelu said they were touched by efforts of Mrs. Obiano to put smiles on the faces of the needy, adding that the decision to form the CAFÉ Ambassadors in all the 21 local government areas of the state was to help spread the good news among the people.

He observed that since the formation of the NGO, the wife of the governor had built houses for many widows who lacked adequate accommodation, donated motorcycles, gas cookers, sewing machines, hair salon items and cash, among other things to the less privileged and those who received them have been doing well in their various endeavours.

She has also refurbished the three special schools for the handicapped in the state by providing them with the necessary amenities.

According to Ezekweleu, CAFÉ as an interventionist organ, has impacted positively in the lives of society’s vulnerable members like widows, women, children, the mentally and physically challenged and the destitute and therefore needed the support of all and sundry.
