The Chief Operating Officer, Niger Delta Investment Summit, NDIS, Mr. Akakabota Derick, on Monday, said the 2016 Niger Delta Investment Summit billed for June 23 and 24, 2016, at the Le’ Meridian Ibom Hotel & Golf Resort, Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State, is expected to attract an investment of over N500 billion to the oil rich region.

Derick in a statement said the two-day summit themed: “Building a Prosperous Region on the Pillars of Peace, Security, Entrepreneurship and Human Capital Development, is expected to be declared open by Governor Udom Emmanuel of Akwa Ibom State on June 23, adding that the summit would also attract top direct investors, economic experts, business owners, government representatives and practitioners within and outside the Niger Delta region.

The statement said: “The summit will bring together regional and global business leaders to discuss on new opportunities that will attract investments and sustain the region’s growth while creating jobs and prosperity for all.

“Niger Delta Investment Summit will feature speakers from both the public and private sectors to discuss on reshaping growth models, fast tracking community growth, Identifying new Investment opportunities and creating jobs for the region’s growing population.
