Islamic group donates N2m relief materials to IDPs in Abuja

Relief  materials worth over N2 million have been donated by Humanity First Canada in collaboration with its Nigeria counterpart to the Internally Displaced Persons, IDP’s affected by the Boko Haram insurgency in the North East of Nigeria.

The items included 120 bags of rice, cartoons of groundnut oil, packs of powdered milk, noddles, bags of semovita, clothes, shoes and cooking utensils were delivered at the IDP camps for Gwoza and Bama communities and 11 other groups from Borno state located at Area 1 Durunmi, Abuja.

International Project Director, Humanity First Canada, Dr Hassan Naeem while handing over the relief items to the victims of Boko haram called for peaceful coexistence and tolerance among groups to curb crises in different parts of the world.

He assured that the international human relief organisation will  return to nigeria to assist victims of Boko Haram and continue its relief programmes in the areas of  drilling boreholes projects, orphanages and other humanitarian projects.

Dr Yakeen Habeeb, chairman, Humanity First Nigeria thanked the Canadian support over the years in humanitarian services across Nigeria, notable flood relief efforts in Lokoja,  Kogi State, borehole project at Ido-Lehin in Ogun, Free medical camps at Ogbonna in Edo and  Lagos States.
