Court adjourns suit against SEC to Sept 29

Abuja – The National Industrial Court, Abuja, has adjourned hearing of the suit brought by Mustapha Jega against the Security and Exchange Commission (SEC) to Sept 29

Jega, a retired director of SEC, had asked the court to compel the commission to pay him all his entitlements.

The judge, Justice Maureen Esowe, fixed the date after hearing from the counsel to the claimant, Amuwa Olatunde, on Thursday.

Olatunde said his client was asking for the payment of his retirement benefits and outstanding retirement benefits of his 18 years service.

He also prayed the court to compel SEC to pay all his client’s retirement benefits and entitlement as a director in SEC.

The claimant also want the court to compel the defendant to pay him N56.5 million as special damages.

He further want the court to compel SEC to be paying his client a monthly pension from end of April.
