Corpus Christi College to get N2m from monarchs

ACHI—ROYAL fathers in Enugu State have promised to donate N2 million for the development of Corpus Christi College, Achi in Oji River Local Government Area.

This was stated, weekend, at the 56th Founders’ Day celebration of the school where the Principal, Rev. Emeka Isife, noted with satisfaction the presence of many alumni, and in particular the representative of the Bishop, Prince M. Akpa.

Royal fathers of the day , Igwe Chima Achiekwelu, Igwe Edmund Onyefulu and Igwe John Egwuatu, who contributed to the successful hosting of the event, spoke through Igwe Chima as they commended the principal for his giant strides in upgrading the school since his assumption two years ago.

A former teacher of the school, Major Forster Mbaekwe (retd), described how the first principal of the school Rev. Fr. Burke in 1966 did his best to employ best hands in the school, which is why the students from the college performed well in their WASC examinations.

Some of the old boys of the college who received special award are; Nze Elias Nnaedozie, and Engr. Osy Ezedozie who promised to renovate one building each, while some other old students like Sir Basil Onyekelueze and Mr. Stan Ukeje instituted various prizes to the best performing students of the College.
