By Solomon Nwoke
DYNAMOS Babes of Edo yesterday heaved a sigh of relieve after they recorded their first win in the ongoing 3rd Sam Ocheho-InnJoo International Handball Championship as they defeated the Queens of Abidjan.
The victory is coming after losing two games and drawing one in the first three days of the tournament. Speaking after their victory, boastful coach of the Edo team, Aaron Okojie expressed happiness as he gave kudos to his girls.
He said, “We needed to win this match as it will boost the morale of the team having lost two matches and drawing one. My girls played to instruction today. It was a sweet victory, though we have not reached our peak and having won today, we hope to improve on this. My target in this competition is to be within the medal zone”.
He lauded the standard of play and the standard of the competition saying, “the teams are doing well, the performance generally has been okay. I want to give kudos to the organizer of this competition, Sam Ocheho for his love for the game.
I believe he has tried regardless of whatever hitches the tournament may have experienced”.
In another development, the Flowers of Benin Republic continued with their winning streak as they defeated Civil Defence Babes 21-20
