Lagos—THE Court of Appeal in Lagos, yesterday adjourned hearing of an appeal, challenging ban on Hijab (head covering for muslim women) in public primary and secondary schools in Lagos State.
The appeal which was slated for hearing could not proceed as Justice Amina Augie held that the matter was a constitutional matter requiring a full panel of the court.
She urged counsels to the appellants to apply in writing to the president of the Appeal court for constitution of a five man panel to hear the appeal.
In his response, counsel to the appellants, Chief Gani Adetola-Kazeem, SAN, urged the court to make the record of proceedings available, to enable him write to the Court of Appeal President.
