THe management of Max Air has assured all intending pilgrims for this year’s hajj exercise from Jigawa state that all night flights will land and take off from Dutse Airport. As against what obtained in the past where all night operations were diverted to Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, flights will now land and take off from Dutse airport, Jigawa State. Max Air served as the major air carrier for Jigawa State pilgrims during last year’s hajj operation but had to divert all night flights to Kano international airport.
The Executive Director of Max Air, Harish Manwani gave the assurance shortly after a meeting with the State governor, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, who told them that night landing facilities had since been installed, therefore the airport was ready for operations at all times.
His words: “Last year we had to use Kano airport because there were no night landing facilities in Dutse airport. But now we were told that the required facilities have been installed. We are going to use the airport at nights for this year’s hajj operation.”
According to him, the management of his air career had so far visited 12 states across the country with a view to getting more patronage for the airlift of their respective states’ intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
