PORT HAR-COURT— GOVERNOR Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has decried the alleged failure of members of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, to rescue the judiciary in the state when it was crippled under the last administration.
Governor Wike, who spoke at Government House, yesterday, when members of the African Bar Association conferred on him life membership of its council, said it was sad that members of the Bar failed to speak in defence of what should be done while the crisis lasted.
Thanking the African Bar Association for the honour, the governor said that stability had returned to the judiciary with the appointment of a substantive Chief Judge for the state and appointment of President Customary Court of Appeal in the state.
