lagos—Men of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences Unit (TaskForce), embarked on aggressive enforcement of the state traffic law and impounded about 30 vehicles at different locations of the state.

The taskforce, at the weekend, warned motorists on its plans to enforce traffic laws of 2012 across the state, hence, the need for strict compliance.

It threatened that any vehicles parked illegally at any locations thereby causing obstruction to other road users or free flow of traffic, especially around any filling stations would have his vehicle impounded and charged to court.

Chairman of the task force, Superintendent of Police, Olayinka Egbeyemi, who gave the warning, vowed to ensure sanity on the roads, particularly around all filling stations across the state irrespective of the fuel situation.

Mob attacks

Meantime, Director of the Lagos State Fire Service, Mr. Rasaq Fadipe, has lamented over serial attacks on fire men by irate residents during rescue operation.

Fadipe, stated this following attack on fire men yesterday, in which the fire engine was vandalized as well during rescue operation in one of the fire incidents in the state.
