FORTUNES of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, suffered yet another setback in Delta State, following the defection of a former member of the State House of Assembly, Chief Joseph Oshevire and hundreds of his supporters defected to the All Progressive Congress, APC.

Speaking at well attended political gathering at the APC ward secretariat in Okpara Inland, Oshevire, who represented Ethiope East constituency in the last political dispensation, expressed dissatisfaction with the running of the affairs of the PDP.

Alleging that certain leaders of  the party had  killed the tenets and practice of democracy,  he decried that his defection from the Democratic People Party DPP on whose platform he won election into the state House of Assembly in 2011, was a monumental mistake.

Lamenting that his sojourn in the PDP brought  a  setback to his political career, he said: “It is better for me to come back to the progressive family rather than continue to stay in the wrong party where one political evolution is not in sight”.

Describing the PDP as a group of rejected politicians with certain characters, Oshevire said: “APC is made up  progressive people and this is where my supporters and I belong.”
