The paramount ruler of Ibeju, Lekki kingdom, Oba Dr. Rafiu Olusegun Bandele Salami Ogunbamishe I, the Onibeju of Ibeju land has been honoured with the prestigious golden leadership award of excellence for his continued and unparalleled selfless service to humanity at his Onibeju Palce in Lagos.

The award was presented by a delegation from The Africa USA International Business Network , New York (TAUIBN) in conjunction with The Stealth Group (TSG) in a brief ceremony that was witnessed by Ibeju, Lekki traditional chiefs.

Speaking for the delegation, Mr. Adewale Muftau Bello, the Public Relations officer noted that the impressive role of the monarch in attracting development to the community has not gone unnoticed within and outside Nigeria.

Onibeju

He said, “I am indeed singularly honoured alongside my colleagues to appreciate you and your work for humanity which we are yet to commend and celebrate. The Stealth Group is an organization with offshoot from the Middle East and we currently have our presence in Nigeria. And we are working tenaciously with investors from Kuwait, Dubai, Canada, Australia and United States to add value to Nigeria through investments in real estate, tourism, and things that will add value as humanitarians and businessmen.

“And indeed, we have chosen Ibeju, Lekki to situate this initiative and I am sure that we have not made a mistake with that. We have established an initiative which we will be talking about later in time to come. The reason for today’s gathering is to celebrate you and to tell you that someone has been watching all your good works in this digital era of technology and advancement. On our part, we can assure you that your sons and daughters from far and near will further hear of your achievements and know that Ibeju, Lekki is the place to be.”

In a brief acceptance speech, the monarch expressed delight at the honour from the The Africa USA International Business Network , New York (TAUIBN) and with The Stealth Group (TSG).

His words, “Actually, I am very happy to receive this beautiful award from The Africa USA International Business Network (New York) and as they say, ‘one good turn deserves another.’ As the paramount ruler and custodian of the tradition of the Ibeju, Lekki kingdom, we have so many things in common to do with ourselves. When we sit down, this will be a symposium of other discussions. On behalf of myself , the traditional chiefs and the people of Ibeju land, we promise you one thing; we shall do business together for the development of our land. As you now know, Ibeju, Lekki is now regarded as the new Lagos and by the grace of God, it will be the Dubai of Africa in the next five years.

“You can see that development has begun on the seaport, airport, Dangote refinery, free trade zone among others. That shows that this land is on the precipice of a big industrial boom. Ibeju, Lekki is one quarter of Lagos State and that means that we are blessed with the highest quantity of land mass in the state. The only challenge we have is that most of this land is swamp but irrespective of that, land is land.”

The delegation also pledged to donate a set of air conditioners to make sure that the Onibeju Palace is well ventilated following an remark from the monarch about the atmosphere.

Some of the traditional chiefs that witnessed the occasion include the Chief Osuluboro of Ibejuland, Chief S.O Lateef (General Secretary), Chief Baba Oba Olosanyin, Chief Alashe of Ibejuland, Chief Bobajiroro of Ibejuland, Chief Jagunmolu of Ibejuland, Chief Ojumodu of Ibejuland, Chief Akogun of Ibejuland, Chief Aromire of Ibejuland, Chief Otunba Mayegun of Ibejuland and Oloye Mali.
