SIX indigenes of Ifuama, a community in Okpe local government area, Delta state have asked the Federal High Court  in Warri to restrain the Inspector General of Police, Solomon Arase and his subordinates from intimidating them

with intent to stall trial of suspects connected with a murder which occurred in the community.

In the Suit FHC/WAR/CS/38/2016 fixed for hearing 21st April 2016, Goodluck Oreko and five other plaintiffs are asking the court for an injunction restraining the IG and his subordinates” from harassing, intimidating and/or arresting the Plaintiffs based on the complaint of Mark John Ighwasi”, one of the suspects connected with the murder of Samson Ogidigbo in the community on 30th June 2015.

In the affidavit in support of the motion, the plaintiffs inferred that since reporting the murder of Samson and impressing on the police to investigate the suspects for which one Wisdom Atuliwa is now under trial, Ighwasi has written false petitions to the AIG Zone 5 Benin against the plaintiffs and others assisting Paul Ogidigbo to get justice over his murdered brother.

“Ighwasi allegation is false and so found out by the police during the interviews of 23/12/15 at the Zone 5. He is using officers of the 2nd Defendant (AIG Zone 5) headquarters to intimidate and scare us from assisting Paul to get justice for his late brother”, the Plaintiffs noted in the suit.
