BENIN—THE All Progressives Congress, APC, in Edo State, has said that it prays that the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state gives Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu the party’s governorship ticket to enable the party tell the world the role the PDP leader played in the alleged under development of the state when he was Secretary to the State Government, SSG, under the administration of former Governor Lucky Igbinedion.

The state Publicity Secretary of the party,  Godwin Erhahor, who was reacting to the claim by Ize-Iyamu that the state government expended N30 billion on Edo State University, Iyamho, at the expense of two other state universities said  that even though the PDP governorship aspirant was manufacturing what it described as frivolous figures, the said university belongs to the people of the state and not any individual.

According to him, “Ize-Iyamu is just being desperate because he wants to get the PDP ticket by all means and he felt that the only way to get the attention of PDP governors is to make frivolous claims on every project executed in this state. He should tell us what happened to allocations that accrued to the state during the Igbinedion administration because while the Iyamho University was on ground for everybody to see, nothing was achieved during his administration as SSG.

“Ize-Iyamu was the most powerful man during Igbinedion’s administration and he supervised the squandering of the treasures of the state.”
