MTU students get free tablets

By Amaka Abayomi

The management of a faith-based varsity owned by Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Mountain Top University, MTU, has distributed Samsung tablets to its 161 pioneer students.

This is to enhance  learning and fulfil an ealier promise made by the Visitor to the university

Addressing students of the institution, the Vice Chancellor, Prof Elijah Ayolabi, said though the students are at liberty to use the tablets, he warned  against visiting wrong websites that will pollute their minds.

Ayolabi’s words; “I pray the liberty you are going to get using this tablet will not turn to bondage. These tablets have been freely given to you by the Visitor, he has done his part. He is not going to monitor  the  sites you visit but the management has installed a control feature that can monitor what you do with it. Once the devise puts a Question Mark on yours, it means you have forfeited it and in order to get another one you have to pay for it.

“This tablet is meant for research, use it to conquer the world and secure your future, use it to know the latest updates about your field of study, use it to learn materials about scholars in your fields. If you  use it accordingly you will be made before you graduate from this institution.”

The VC added that 50 computers have been deposited in the library to give the students access to e-library, while another 50 will be in the Computer laboratory for Computer Science department.

Explaining further, the Registrar of MTU, Mr. Ademola Bobola, said the students have just witnessed a beginning of many miracles to come, and the way they manage the tablets will determine other surprises to come their way.

Bobola said about 160 tablets were distributed out of 220 students matriculated, as only 161 have completed their clearance.
