Chief Tony Okocha is the candidate of the APC for the Obio Akpor House of Representatives seat. He was a former Caretaker Committee Chairman, Obio Akpor local government area. He also worked as an aide to Mr Nyesom Wike when he was Chairman, Obio Akpor local government area.

Okocha took over from Wike as Chief of Staff Government House, in the second term of former Governor Chibuike Amaechi.

He is a graduate of Philosophy in the University of Port Harcourt. He was among the exceptionally brilliant student of the department in his time. He excelled excellently in Advance Logic, an optional course in the department many students avoided in his time.

The soft spoken Okocha said poverty was the major challenge in his constituency, promising to tackle it if elected into the House. He said he would pursue policies and programmes that will redress the issue.

Strength: Okocha is seen as a man of the youths and a bridge between the young and elderly in his constituency.    As a former Chairman, Obio Akpor local government council and now seeking to represent the area in the House of Representatives they said they were not in doubt that he was familiar with challenges of the area and how best to tackle them.

They also recalled his empowerment programes, saying as Chief of Staff, Government House, Port Harcourt he had several empowerment programs for women, youths and scholarship for those seeking educational pursuit.
